In January 2002, Mel Lamont purchased Houston Embroidery Works. At that time, HEW’s core business was monograms for individuals.
During the next eleven years, core business was shifted away from monograms and was focused on a business-to-business marketing strategy. This shift fueled a growth of 20 times our size in 2002, and propelled us into the top 3% of all companies within our industry. Another major factor that contributed to this explosive growth was Mel’s twin sons, Mel Jr and Jerry, joining the company in 2005, after serving a tour in Iraq with the USMC.
In 2013, HEW was restructured and Lamont Brands, Inc. was formed.
We’re a HUB certified SDVOSB (Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business). Our in-house capabilities include: screen printing, embroidery, laser engraving, heat press transfers, vinyl cutting, eCommerce capabilities, and on-site fulfillment services. We’re also partnered with several industry-leading promo/safety vendors so that we can provide our customers with any need!
